Course details
This course provides an introduction to modern biology with emphasis on the animal sciences. The diversity of biological structures and processes are examined at the cellular, organ and whole animal levels. Topics include the basic concepts of cell biology, anatomy, physiology, morphology, genetics and animal diversity, including the basis for the phylogeny and classification of living organisms.
This is an introductory course for students seeking to include biology in their program. The course is self-contained and can be taken on its own or used to satisfy entry requirements for a number of advanced level courses in the biological, biomedical or environmental sciences.
