MDWF22005 High Risk Maternal and Newborn Collaborative Care

Course details

This course introduces the complex issues surrounding a high-risk woman from preconception to early parenting. Central to this course is the continuity of care, which embodied within it the relationship between the woman, midwife and other health professionals and highlights the roles and responsibilities of each within the care process. The course enhances the midwife responsibilities to obstetrical practices, culturally specific practices and the ethical, legal, advocacy, education, counselling, caring, and collaboration or referral roles required to provide care to high-risk woman.
