ENEV22003 Sustainable Decentralised Systems

Course details

This course investigates the approaches to obtain integrated and/or local water systems that incorporate the collection, treatment, recycling and reuse of water and the recycling of nutrients. The concepts of viability and sustainability of integrated water, sanitation, stormwater and associated energy systems at all scales, and decentralised community/cluster/neighbourhood scale water systems are explored. Emphasis is highlighted regarding such aspects as management options and systems, institutional and regulatory arrangements, public perception, funding and economics, water cycle and catchment issues, long-term sustainability and water security.
