Course details

This unit explores the philosophical and theoretical dimensions of nursing care models and relates these concepts to existing expert clinical practice. Analytical and critical approaches are applied to the examination of existing nursing and midwifery Models that can be applied to nursing and midwifery problems and challenges through the use of critical analysis. The link between existing nursing care models and desirable change in the existing models to accommodate the issues that arise in contemporary nursing practice is developed. It is a requirement of enrolment in this course that students have access to the CQU website via the Internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study using email and the Internet.
