Opportunities exist for graduates in management/consultancy and practice of workplace health and safety. For example, ergonomics, industrial safety officer, occupational hygienist and risk management. Employment is found in primary industry, rural safety, manufacturing, mining, services industry, employer associations, the defence force, health industry and government authorities.
Graduates may also qualify for the Workplace Health and Safety Officer Certificate awarded by the Department of Industrial Relations and the Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator Certificate accredited by WorkCover. Industry experts have been consulted throughout the developmental stages, to ensure graduates possess the knowledge, attributes and skills that are deemed to be most important by future employers.

CQU’s Health and Human Performance studies enables you to learn more about sport and exercise science, human fitness, family and community health, lifestyle management, occupational health and safety and personal health. Core studies provide a comprehensive understanding of health and the factors that influence it.
Occupational health and safety studies develops your expertise in the identification and anticipation of occupational health and safety hazards in the workplace and enables a systematic approach for their assessment and control across the major discipline areas of occupational hygiene, human factors and safety science/risk management.
