MARN13013 Marine Environmental Impact Assessment

Course details

Marine scientists need to maintain an up to date knowledge of the methodology and statistical techniques used to asess environmental impacts. This course includes the history of environmental impact assessment, the problems inherent in working in the marine environment including single sources of possible impacts, statistical methods, the evaluation of research proposals, report presentation, and the critical evaluation of reports. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical skills to evaluate new methodology and techniques in this rapidly evolving field.
