ENEE12004 Introduction to Power Systems

Course details

This course provides an introduction to basic concepts in electric power systems, with particular attention to the design and operation of power system components. The course also covers: calculate power flows in AC systems as per standard conventions; model and solve simple three phase power systems using per unit quantities; describe and analyse various types of transformers and connection schematics; describe transmission system components, analyse transmission lines using simple models and be able to perform simple calculations in transmission line capability; describe distribution system components, layout and protection features.
