Direct entry Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or its equivalent and where applicable, a minimum IELTS score of 5.5. Students entering with an IELTS below 6.0 may enrol in a maximum of three courses in each of the first four terms of study; and must complete COMM11008 and COMM11009 as two of their elective courses.

 

Note: students entering the program via Direct (Special) entry - IELTS 5.5 - will also be required to undertake Learning Skills Unit support sessions for the first three terms of study.

 

Computing requirements

You will need access to a computer for your studies. Regular access to the Internet, email and a Microsoft Windows computer is required.

 

Transitional agreements

Existing students may graduate under pre-2006 rules.  Transitional arrangements are as follows:

  • following the last offering of COIS12041 Business Programming (proposed for 2006, T2), students will study COIT11222 Visual Programming in place of COIS12041 Business Programming
  • The new IT courses are available as elective choices to existing students:
    • Systems Integration
    • Internet Application Development
    • COIT11222 Visual Programming
    • COIS13064 Information Systems Project Management
    • COIT11223 Workplace Issues
  • Students may not study COIT11223 Workplace Issues if they have passed COIT13132 Professional Issues
