CA61 - Bachelor of Business (Honours)

Program Aim

This program combines coursework and a dissertation.  It is designed to provide Bachelor of Business graduates who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance with the opportunity to gain experience in research, particularly of business issues.

Candidates for admission must possess an appropriate pass degree from an Australian university or college with a grade point average of 5 or better in advanced level courses relevant to the proposed dissertation topic.  The degree must have been completed within the last 2 years, except with the special approval of the Dean.

Applicants will need to consult academic staff to ascertain the availability of a supervisor for their program, and will be required to attend an interview with senior academic staff of the Faculty before their candidature is further considered.  Information on staff research areas is available at http://www.bus.cqu.edu.au/Research/Staff/researchexpertise.htm.

The Faculty is currently reviewing this program of study and is therefore unable to accept applicants for entry in 2006.

Program Structure

Candidates must complete the equivalent of 8 courses to graduate from this course, comprising 4 courses of coursework and a dissertation equivalent to 4 courses.  The dissertation component includes the presentation of a seminar on the research topic.

The sequence of study for part-time candidates will be determined in consultation with their supervisors and the Associate Dean (Research).  This may differ from that of full-time students and different study loads and time limits may apply.
