CQ24 - Bachelor of Health (Health Promotion, Health Education)

Program Aim

This program aims to prepare graduates to fulfill a crucial role in the community in health promotion and education.

Students will complete core courses related to health promotion and health education and undertake a second plan, or area of study, that will allow specialisation in a specific area of interest, such as occupational health and safety, human movement science, welfare, environmental science, health management, professional communication, journalism, marketing, psychology, biomedical science, human resource management, health informatics or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies.

Program Structure

To satisfy the requirements of the award, students must complete 24 courses or 144 units of credit as outlined. Students must complete a sequence of compulsory courses plus six electives or second plan courses.

Students may select a second plan from any undergraduate program, or select undergraduate courses as electives which may be selected from undergraduate courses offered through any faculty.

Note: Students must enrol in at least four Advanced Level courses as part of their second plan.

 

Recommended study schedule

The following schedule is designed for full-time students who usually enrol in four courses per term or 24 units of credit. Part-time students should therefore modify this schedule to suit their own needs.  The normal study load for part-time students is 2 courses per term or 12 units of credit per term.
