Compulsory courses:
* COIT11222 may be taken instead of COIT11134 and COIT12137 may be taken instead of COIT12140.
Students who have passed COIT11133 Programming Fundamentals, but not COIT11134 Procedural Programming or COIT11222 Visual Programming, must complete COIT11134 Procedural Programming or COIT11222 Visual Programming the next time their preferred course is available on the student's campus.
Four specialisations are available:

Please note: COIT19209/10 Computing Project Part A and Part B count as one in this list.
Rules governing electives:
- electives may include general electives from other CQU degrees
- no more than 6 elective courses may be taken outside the Faculty of Informatics & Communication
- no more than 4 electives may be Level 1 courses
- due to content overlap, students may not take the following courses:

COIS11015 Introductory Computing Applications
COIS11077 Introductory to Computing
MMST12009 Dynamic Web Interfaces
- students who have completed COIT11125 Computing Skills or COIT11126 Computer Skills may NOT take COIS11011 Foundations of Business Computing.
