Course details
This course provides a practical introduction to 3D modelling and rendering using 3D graphics software. The topics that are covered in the course include: concepts associated with 3D space such as axes, planes, coordinate systems and views; creating, combining and manipulating 3D primitives to build complex scenes; using NURBS and polygon modelling techniques to create 3D character models; creating lighting effects within a 3D scene; using virtual cameras to control how an audience views a 3D scene; creating and applying materials to objects within a 3D scene; projecting maps onto surfaces within a 3D scene; and rendering 3D scenes to different types of output files. Note: This course requires access to a computer running Windows with a 3D graphics card, an Internet connection, audio capabilities and a CD-RW drive.
