About Research Higher Degrees
A research higher degree is a program of supervised research and study leading to the preparation of a thesis. The holder of a research higher degree will have submitted a thesis which examiners have declared to have provided a contribution to knowledge and demonstrated the candidate's capacity to carry out independent research.
Research is an integral part of Central Queensland University's purpose. There is a strong commitment to the conduct of cutting-edge research in new areas which challenge the boundaries of the traditional disciplines to provide distinctive research opportunities and solution for staff, candidates and sponsors.
The Faculty of Arts, Health and Sciences has considerable strength in research and is the leading research Faculty at CQU.
Approximately 100 of the University's research higher degree candidates are located in the Faculty, as well as three of the University's four designated Research Centres.
The Associate Dean (Research) is responsible for the management of the Faculty's Research portfolio by planning and monitoring the Faculty's directions and activities in research and postgraduate research training.
