Career Opportunities
Registered nurses work in the health care industry and health promotion agencies, including occupational health, Aboriginal health, community health, drug and alcohol agencies, the armed services, public and private hospitals and nursing homes.
About Nursing
Nursing provides a challenging yet rewarding career focused on the health and wellbeing of others. The health care industry is ever changing and registered nurses are in high demand.
Students explore the theoretical and research based methods of nursing practices and develop skills and knowledge in areas such as cross-cultural health care, legal issues, disease management, human anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and human behavior.
The CQU School of Nursing and Health Studies is committed to producing competent, effective nurses. We have taken our in depth experience of distance education and applied it to a flexible learning environment for students both external and on-campus. We provide more clinical experience than you can expect elsewhere, to bridge the gap from theory to practice. More clinical experience means more competent graduates and this brings faster promotion in the workplace, and supports the image of the professional nurse.
