About Religious Education
The Graduate Certificate in Religious Education encourages students to reflect upon their own religious experiences in conversation with contemporary pedagogical and theological scholarship. The courses provide opportunities for students to reflect on religious experiences as a worldwide phenomenon: to look at responses to religious experience through the development of religious storytelling, texts, traditions and rituals, to understand and apply an appropriate framework for reading scriptural texts: to consider issues and challenges confronting members of today's society; and to develop pedagogical strategies and skills applicable to teaching religion to young persons.
