ENVR20001 Science and the Environment

Course details

This course is one of four required to complete the Graduate Certificate in Science. It develops a critical awareness of the value of the application of scientific knowledge and methods to problems of environmental concern, including human population pressure, resources and pollution; ecosystems, community structure and genetic diversity, to the level necessary to teach in this area to secondary year 10 level. It also develops skills in research, including information retrieval, original critical thinking and report presentation. Emphasis throughout the course is placed upon a range of learning experiences intended to help students develop as independent learners.
