MGMT11163 Managerial Communication

Course details

A theoretical and practical study of the complex skills required for effective communication in the Australian management context. The program covers the psychological dynamics of group and individual behaviour in organisational settings; interpersonal interaction including non-verbal interaction and formal and informal structures; interviewing, especially information exchange between professionals; and influencing change in an organisational setting. Role playing and simulated group activities may be practised and analysed. Students will be expected to become proficient in the preparation and presentation of reports and letters as well as in verbal presentations. Topics from accounting, auditing, marketing, human resource management, data processing management and administration will form the basis of the practical work.
