LOTE11003 Effective Communication in a Second Language

Course details

This course aims to develop LOTE proficiency through content-based learning. Students are encouraged to take as much responsibility for their own LOTE learning as possible so that learning becomes increasingly self-directed. The course employs specialised immersion techniques and incorporates the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Second language learning through immersion education is seen to promote increased levels of acquisition and to facilitate higher proficiency levels than traditional approaches to language learning.
