FINC20008 International Finance

Course details

This course will enable students to: understand and critically evaluate articles on international finance appearing in the financial press; participate in decisions in the workplace which involve international financial considerations and analysis play a useful, contributing role in the corporate finance department of an organisation with international operations or financing. If you are going to achieve these objectives you will have to become familiar with the language of international finance; develop a working knowledge of international financial theory; learn how to use a variety of quantitative and qualitative tools in your analysis; and become familiar with the range of Australian and international financial institutions and policies. Topics include: The study of international finance; The international monetary system and the balance of payments; Foreign exchange markets and rates; Foreign exchange risk management; Multinational working capital management; Foreign investment analysis and Financing foreign operations.
