Course details

This course is designed to ensure that continuing tertiary learners of second language develop the skills to communicate confidently and effectively in a range of unfamiliar contexts.

Students will be presented with a range of communication settings and will encounter a variety of genre, language events and resources. Through this course, students will be encouraged to employ the skills required to engage in spontaneous communication and to use language creatively to meet their own needs and aspirations. An aim of the course is for learners to accept responsibility for their own learning and to participate independently in a natural language environment. There is an emphasis on the development of both literacy and oracy skills.
