Course details
Psychology honours consists of two terms of study made up of coursework and research dissertation. The coursework component will constitute 50 percent of the total assessment. The coursework is made up of studies in the theory of psychology, the professional practice of psychology and issues in psychological practice as well as advanced data analysis. Each component will contribute equally toward the overall assessment. The remaining 50 per cent of assessment will be a research project resulting in a dissertation. The dissertation will consist of a single piece of research or scholarship of between 15,000 and 25,000 words of text, excluding appendices. The research or scholarly work will be conducted under the supervision of a member of the psychology staff on a topic which will be approved by the Faculty at the commencement of the Honours year.
