MGMT20113 Strategy Implementation

Course details

This course builds on the foundation developed in MGMT20112 Strategy Formulation and Initiatives, and further extends the appreciation of Strategy's critical importance for corporate, business and operational domains. Implementation embraces the notion of translating intention into action. The course engages students in examining strategy implementation in both stable and unstable contexts, and asks key questions about planning for situations of uncertainty and complexity. The approach taken requires students to work towards a project of observation and interpretation. Students are expected to be at the final stages of their Masters or MBA program with an interest in working independently, once they have negotiated their project focus. There are three interim assessments, a comparative case assignment, a project proposal, and final project submission. There is no formal examination requirement for this course. Students are encouraged to contact the course coordinator upon enrolment to initiate a working approach to the course.
