Course details
This course explores the health needs of individuals and families, across the lifespan. In particular, vulnerable and at risk groups and families within society will be identified in relation to the health challenges that they face. Further, this course will address the role of agencies and services in supporting the health needs of individuals and families within the community environment. The philosophy and principles of primary health care with particular emphasis on the role of therapeutic communication strategies that empower individuals and families in community settings, will underpin this course. Students may be required to undertake up to 24 days supervised clinical practice as a component of the course. It is a requirement of this course to have access to the CQU website and Internet.
