ENCO12008 Computer Architecture and Assembler

Course details

This course introduces 8086 family architecture and assembly language programming. The 8086/88 assembly language is covered at a level sufficient to illustrate architecture concepts and to write medium length (complexity) assembly language programs. This is achieved through an initial study of the architecture of the 80x86 family of processors and then an introduction to the assembly language instructions and syntax. Once the instruction set is familiar then higher level structures are introduced, such as procedures, macros and BIOS routines.
