Program aim
This program combines coursework and a dissertation. It is designed to provide Bachelor of Business graduates who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance with the opportunity to gain experience in research, particularly of business issues.
Candidates for admission must possess an appropriate pass degree from an Australian university or college with a grade point average of 5 or better in advanced level courses relevant to the proposed dissertation topic. The degree must have been completed within the last 2 years, except with the special approval of the Dean.
Applicants will need to consult academic staff to ascertain the availability of a supervisor for their program, and will be required to attend an interview with senior academic staff of the Faculty before their candidature will be accepted. Program structure
Candidates must complete the equivalent of 8 courses to graduate from this course, comprising 4 courses of coursework and a dissertation equivalent to 4 courses. The dissertation component includes the presentation of a seminar on the research topic.
The sequence of study for part-time candidates will be determined in consultation with their supervisors and the Associate Dean (Research). This may differ from that of full-time students and different study loads and time limits may apply.

Dissertations
Full-time students are required to submit their dissertations no later than the last day of the examination period. Each part-time student will be given a date by which the dissertation must be submitted; this date will normally be the last day of an examination period.
Once the date for submission of the dissertation has been fixed, any extension of time for submission will be granted by the Dean only in exceptional circumstances and upon receipt of proof that the delay was due to circumstances outside the candidate's control.
Grading of Honours Degrees
The available level of gradings for those undertaking their Honours program are:
