ZOOL13003 Comparative Physiology

Course description

This course considers the comparative physiology of animals. Selected aspects of animal function that are addressed include respiration, metabolism, thermoregulation, osmoregulation, diving physiology, nerve transmission and muscular contraction. While most of the exemplars are drawn from vertebrate taxa, core characteristics of invertebrate physiology are covered in each topic.
