Course description

This course develops the student's ability to see the "big picture" of client needs in the context of the community. In this sense the community becomes the client. Both the theoretical and practical aspects of working with communities, are explored, as well as the role of the community worker in assisting to facilitate change. A strong emphasis is placed on skills and strategy acquisition, and on involvement and participation in local community needs, projects and issues.
