PHYS29001 Physics I
Course description
This course is intended to introduce the student to some of the basic principles of physics, in order to develop a fundamental understanding of several broad area of physics (mechanics, properties of matter and atomic and nuclear physics) applied to different fields of engineering and technology. In addition gain some practical experience of the measurement techniques used to investigate certain physical phenomena. Emphasis throughout the course is placed upon a range of learning experiences (lecture-discussions, practical sessions, tutorials) intended to help students develop as independent learners.
