PHYG13004 Earth Science
Course description
To provide the student with a knowledge of some of the physical properties of the earth and how these properties are determined and used particularly in relation to environmental science. Secondly to give students a better understanding of soils, their classification, genesis and properties. On completion of the course, the student will be able to: assess the validity of undertaking geophysical surveys at a site and to understand the results of such a survey; have some knowledge of soils and be able to read a soils map.
