PERF11021 Community Arts

Course description

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop a knowledge and appreciation of their own community and its social fabric and values. From this knowledge base students will develop arts workshops around a specific issue/event within that community. The focus is on a multi-dimensional arts experience incorporating members of the community involved in the issue/event. The communities studied and the arts experience developed may be local, regional, intrastate, national, specific areas of the world, for example, Asia/Pacific region or global.
