Course description
This course contains selected studies in the structure of contemporary popular music from the twentieth century (ca 1900 to the 1950's). Particular attention is given to the study and analysis of primary source materials relating to the musical forms relevant to this period. This course is important in its relationship to all practical areas within the Bachelor of Music program as it provides a theoretical and historical basis for the study of musical forms.
