MATH20247 Quantitative Methods
Course description
This course is designed to meet the needs of students, especially those enrolled in a business program, who require a working knowledge of elementary mathematical concepts. Topics include simple linear, quadratic and exponential models, inequalities and simple linear programming problems, the mathematics of finance, and an introduction to the calculus of singlevariable functions with emphasis on applications to marginal analysis and optimisation. NOTE: If you have recently completed studies in Quantitative Methods in an Australian undergraduate program, you are advised to seek substitution for this course if it is compulsory for your current program. Alternatively, if your program allows, you may seek exemption. (This same course previously used the code STAT20023. Students MUST NOT attempt both courses).
