MATH12173 Linear Algebra

Course description

The mathematical topics presented here find application in most other areas of mathematical pursuit. Students studying in this course will investigate the foundation results covering systems of linear equations, matrix algebra and determinants before discussing vector geometry and vector spaces, eigenvalues, diagonalisation, linear transformations, and inner product spaces. The software package MATLAB is introduced as a learning tool and access to it is highly recommended. It is assumed that students will have the knowledge acquired in the course MATH11163 Mathematics 1A to complete this course.
