MATH12171 Differential Equations
Course description
A differential equation is an equation involving some unknown function and its derivatives. This course involves a detailed investigation of first and second order differential equations using classical analytic and numerical techniques. In addition, linear differential equations of higher order are discussed. Other topics include a study of the Laplace transform and power series methods, systems of differential equations, and an introduction to difference equations. Familiarity with the software package MATLAB is assumed but is not a requirement.
