LOTE12006 International Communication in a Second Language

Course description

This course continues to develop the language proficiency of students and incorporates the four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Life and education in the target country are the major foci of the course and are addressed through a range of activities which employ immersion techniques. Sociocultural issues are a component of the course, with a particular emphasis on the use of appropriate language in context. Students are exposed to realia and encouraged to participate in learning activities which would enable a stay in a target country to be of maximum benefit.
