LOTE11012 Second Language Acquisition
Course description
Teaching is a skill as much as it is a science. The overall objective of this course will create a more informed LOTE teacher. "How does a learner learn a second language and how can one best facilitate this process?" is the central issue to be dealt with in this course of work. The importance of using the second language (L2) as a means to communicate and as a tool for learning is explored. The student will be able to identify ways to facilitate the above and usefully employ strategies, knowing "what teaching/learning activity produces what learning outcome".
