HMSC20031 Research Methodologies

Course description

This course will equip the student to carry out research in health care or community settings. They will examine a variety of research paradigms; measurement evaluation and statistical techniques appropriate to the paradigms. Qualitative and quantitative models of research will be reviewed and application of methodologies critiqued. Grounded theory, parametric and non parametric data processing techniques will be discussed. Techniques of research design, the analysis of research problems and the development of appropriate research questions will be emphasised.
