Course description
Students will examine the many facets associated with the introduction of electronic health records and the Commonwealth Government?s HealthConnect initiative to enable them to respond in a knowledgeable way to the re-shaping of the way in which patient information will be managed in the health system. This course aims to facilitate its graduates to make the best possible use of new and evolving information and communication technologies now being introduced in the health sector. This is expected to transform the way health care is delivered, documented, reported and researced to improve health outcomes and facilitate greater consumer involvement in their own healthcare. This new course aims to facilitate learning about the foundational building blocks needed for successful EHR construction, implementation and usage.
