HLTH13027 Health Care Across Cultures
Course description
Health professionals work in a largely monocultural health system with a multicultural clientele and colleagues. To practice effectively, the health practitioner must critically examine their own values, adopt the profession's values and adapt to the cultural needs of clients. This course assists students to prepare for health practice across cultures that are not restricted to ethnicity, but incorporate age, cognitive ability, gender, physical ability and cultural preferences.
