EVST20003 Environmental Risk Management

Course description

In this course students will be introduced to EMS framework and decision tools. Topics covered will include risk based environmental management, risk benefit/cost benefit decision tools, identification of hazards, risk analysis, scoping and identification of hazards and/or risks, risk analysis and assessment, qualitative rating of risk, risk perception and acceptance of risk, risk communication, and risk treatment. Students will be presented with and prepare case studies identifying the application of risk based environmental management in specific areas identified from previous Environmental Management courses. Residential school for distance education students.
