Course description

This course aims to provide students with a systematic and coherent framework of the classification, properties, and application of materials in engineering. The course is intended to promote student's awareness on the various types of materials used in everyday life, the effects of environment on engineering materials, especially the effects of corrosion and oxidation, the principles of failure analysis, the optimal selection of materials and the factors that have led to their adoption.
