ENEM12005 Machine Element Design

Course description

The purpose of this project based course is to provide students with practical mechanical engineering design skills and develop an understanding of the mechanical design process. The course develops the material covered in ENEC 12003 Basic Mechanics and Structures and applies it to the design of mechanical components and systems. Students will be required to develop creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills and consider aspects such as function, cost, material properties, ease of manufacture, compliance with engineering standards and safety.
