Course description

Not offered in 2004 This course aims at developing the student's understanding of the social and cultural context within which educational decisions are made; the social processes affecting these decisions; the range of possible responses to the changing social, technical, political and economic climate surrounding their workplace; the changing nature of the professional role of teachers and trainers; and the social and historical forces that continue to shape and influence the development of industrialised societies. This course is not compatible with 41401 Cultural Foundations of Education. Students may not enrol in both courses.
