Course description

Pedagogy is central to achieving learning outcomes in students. This course focuses on pedagogical frameworks that explicitly engage adolescents in learning in the Middle Phase of Learning. This course uses the dimensions of learning as the preferred pedagogical framework based upon contemporary research and practices. A clearly understood pedagogical framework combined with specific pedagogical content knowledge is fundamental to best practice as a learning manager. There is a focus on student learning outcomes and a range of other topics are examined including curriculum development, teaching and learning resources, assessment and evaluation. Critical use is made of relevant sources of information including curriculum and policy documents to promote professional teaching and quality learning experiences.
