EDFE12008 Professional Practice II
Course description
This is a compulsory component of initial teacher preparation. This course is a combination of on campus (lectures and tutorials) and off campus experiences. Students enrolled in this course are placed in a school setting for four weeks. During this time students will be expected to engage in a range of observation, planning, teaching and follow-up tasks. Students are encouraged to gain practical teaching experience through working collaboratively with the supervising teacher. Skills given particular emphasis are those relating to continuity in lesson/course planning in a curriculum area and across curriculum areas and monitoring student learning. (Note: Students specialising in Early Childhood will be placed in either a Pre School, Child Care Centre, Kindergarten or Years 1-3 setting.)
