EDFE11014 Advanced Professional Practice
Course description
The emphasis of APP is on promoting professional development through an extended period of work place learning. The main aim is to become familiar with and competent in diverse teaching roles within a school context. Professional development is enhanced through student teachers working in collegial environments with the support of an experienced teacher mentor; the teaching load progressively increasing; having opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in a range of curriculum areas; and being involved as a staff member in various aspects of the work place. Students may be required to meet occasionally at the nearest branch campus to engage in work which complements and informs their on-going practice.
