EDED20292 Educational Policy and Practice

Course description

The course aims to enable students to understand the processes of policy formation and translation into strategic action and educational practice.The discourses of policy formulation will be analysed focusing on corporate managerialism and administrative devolution, incorporation, human capital theory and economic rationalism. Policy at national and state (Queensland) levels will be examined and students will be provided with the opportunity to analyse relevant policy documents such as Focus on Schools, Australia's Teachers and others.
