EDED12346 Positive Learning Environments
Course description
This course draws on themes introduced in earlier courses and focuses on the selected theory of behaviour management in applying those theories to practical classroom situations. It assumes students have knowledge in the areas of human development and educational studies and are developing knowledge through studies of interpersonal communication, human relationship education and inclusive education. This course builds on such knowledge, with a particular emphasis upon theories and practices of communication, inclusive education, child and adolescent development, pastoral care and equity. It seeks to operationalise this theory so that beginning teachers are developing sophisticated classroom management skills prior to entering the teaching profession.
