EDED12340 Outdoor Pursuits
Course description
Examines a range of competitive, educational and recreational activities pursued in natural environments in Australia. Consideration is given to the use, management, and conservation of these resources and strategies for minimising impact through recreational and sporting use. Through practical experiences, students develop their teaching skills in a number of outdoor pursuits and the development of outdoor pursuit programs. Consideration is given to the study of safety aspects, including the care and maintenance of equipment, and an examination of first aid procedures in isolated areas.
