EDED11320 Language, Education and Professional Understanding
Course description
What is education? Why do some learners succeed in educational contexts where others fail? How can professional educators respond? In attempting to answer these questions, this course seeks to link issues of social justice to the use of language within educational contexts through a consideration of `linguistic justice'. Other important concepts considered within the course provide the framework within which appropriate linguistic and critical competencies for the professional educator are explored.
